Day 45 - It was handy to have this equipment around
during the wall construction. The pool builder did allow me to use his
equipment. It was well appreciated. If only we could have communicated,
I truly think everything would have gone so much smoother. Instead,
there was a lot of frustration throughout the pool construction process
mostly due to this miscommunication or lack thereof.

Day 45 - The left wall heading to the pool house was completed.
Here is where it WAS NOT FUN. I was really concerned on how I had constructed
the wall and researched it a little more on the internet. I found that
I placed each wall block upside down. We had to go and tear out both walls
that were built and re-stack them correctly. That did not GO WELL with
Lana. It took us 1 day to complete the left wall and 2 more days to complete
the right wall due to the amount of back fill in stone - DOUBLE SIGH... |

Day 45 - An overview of the two walls that were constructed in one
weekend. The rest of the week to tear down and place back up. Fortunately,
the stairs are not affected.
|
Day 45 - Dug out some areas for cabling. Taking a break from wall construction.

|
Day 45 - Another perspective on the wall construciton.
|
Day 45 - There is drainage pipe behind the entire wall.
The drain pipe will drain down to the back of the pool house and drain
eventually out to the front yard. |

Day 45 - All of the equipment they have here to build
the pool. The one decision we made that was very good was to pay the
pool builder to get rid of the dirt. Otherwise I would have had a nightmare
of dirt doing it myself with borrowed equipment. It's AMAZING how much
dirt they accumulate. Everything beyond the contracted work was very
elevated in price. That's one thing that I would do different when building
another pool. Writing in the pool contract specific negotiated prices
in how much it would cost to haul dirt. They originally quoted me $150/truck
load. I ended up paying them $50/truck load and provided a site very
close to our house for the majority of the dirt. I think they still
did well on that price.

Day 45 - Our old pool was dragged over to the yard one
day when they needed more space. It got forgotten and ruined by the time
we were ready to pack it up. Next time get rid of everything prior to
the pool builder arriving for his work. You'll lose time very quickly
trying to keep up with them. |

|
Day 46 - Yes, this is where the lounge chairs are going
to reside when the pool is used next year. Those are all my tools of
the trade for building a wall piled up there.
|
Day 46 - It is starting to look like something here. |
|
|
Day 46 - A view of the entire pool area from the roof
of the house. That's me taking the picture.
|
Day 46 - At the end of the day, we sat down and enjoyed
a beer from our work. Little does she know that we have to re-build
those walls we're looking at.

Day 46 - Just trying to get the right picture.
|
Day 46 - Not yet.
|
|
|
Day 46 - Finally the right picture. Took a lot of running
to get back up there. After 6 beers also - no, just kidding.
|
Day 46 - After 46 days, it looks like we're getting somewhere.
It will be much longer before we get there - SIGH. |
|
|
Day 46 - Some overview pictures of the entire site.
|
Day 46 - A real good perspective of the pool from the roof
top. |
