Building the Pool House (4 of 7)

Day 38 - Getting the front roof on. Everything went well. I was very happy to be able to use the back of the truck to move the plywood up to the roof. It got a little tricky trying to get the last piece on. I only had a 14' extension ladder, but went from the front. Wait till the roofing begins. This was nothing.
Day 38 - Just another perspective.
Day 38 - Another pond perspective. The waterfall starts where the lizard is located down in the middle.
Day 38 - Starting to look like a Pool House.
Day 38 - Still trying to get that last sheet up there.
Day 38 - And another perspective.
Day 38 - And yet another perspective.
Day 38 - Here is the main pond with the waterfall on the right.
Day 38 - The main pond filled with water plants. They grow like WEEDS!
Day 38 - At the end of the day, I sit down with a beer and visualize what's next. It was another hot day in August. Unfortunately, the boat sits in the driveway instead of getting any use. It was used twice throughout 2010. Next year, it needs to get some more use.

Day 38 - At the end of the day, it pretty much looks exactly as it did about 2 hours ago - LOL.

Day 38 - The proud owners of their new Pool Shed

Day 38 - With a few tools, it's amazing what you can accomplish by reading and a little will power. I never had any formal training in doing any of this - just the desire to read and learn.

Day 38 - This is my best friend and helper. She's been in the middle of everything we've been doing. She just doesn't know what she's gotten into coming up in the next few months.
Day 38 - I think the only thing that changed was the piece of plywood moving from the right to the left.

Day 39 - Looks pretty shady underneath there. Can't wait to get the bar set up.

Day 39 - Side view looking from the porch.

Day 39 - Starting to look like a Pool House

Day 38 - I think the only thing that changed was the piece of plywood moving from the right to the left.

There was a significant lag in time here due to the fact that the pool began. We shifted from working on the pool house to working on the wall system. If I had done this over again, I would have insisted that we complete the pool house before construction of the pool. Hindsight, there was a signicicant amount of problems with water in the next 20 days without a roofing cover. It also created quite a mess when shingling with the pool water in the pool.

Lesson 2 learned: Take your time and complete your shed assuming you have your entry areas planned out for pool plumbing to avoid quite a mess when construction continues while the pool is being constructed.

Day 52 - We thought we were done digging. Now the dig is from the house to the pool house. We need both electric and gas to the pool house for the pool.construction you'll see shortly. This was a major dig and NOT FUN. We had a 40 amp service installed (center) for our old hot tub 3 years ago. This is all being taken out and replaced with the new service - SIGH... Construct - Destruct - Recreate!
Day 52 - This is the hole on the house end prior to the pond. I had to dig a hole 18" deep by 24" wide to accomodate both electric and gas line.
Day 52 - Another picture looking from the house end into the pond area.
Day 52 - This is the gas line going into the house. The electric line will be arriving in the next week
Day 52 - I had to make a temporary fence. The hole was dug approximately 1/2 foot from the property line. This entire area will be a wall so we can elevate all the plants to the same level of the pond top.
Day 52 - The hole was dug all the way to the pool house. I was fortunate enough to be able to use the track-hoe to do a litle bit of the digging, but the majority was done by hand. I am so happy this is complete.
