Day 584 - Got 12 volt electric lines running along the edges of the top tier for all the lighting around the pool.
Day 590 - Another pallet of block. I'm getting close to completion of block work. This area will ultimately become the putting green.

Day 590 - The 3 palm trees werer covered during the winter to avoid cold damage. They survived fine!
Day 590 - A typical Saturday involves getting 2 scoops of stone dust and 40-60 square feet of bluestone. The 2nd tier needs to be completed on Day 670 - May 30, 2012.

Day 590 - In between all my other work, I decided to build a raised garden. We've got so much extra dirt from excavating areas for block, thought that would be a good use of the extra dirt.
Day 598 - Taking a break on a hot day out here. This is very tedious work. There is a lot of waste on the edges and I usually have to lay the bluestone twice after finding it isn't close to level.

Day 598 - It's starting to take shape really well. This bluestone really provides a good contrast to the red block and appears to settle very little from the stone I laid this past fall. There were a few pieces I needed to re-set but overall very few.
Day 598 - Getting rid of scrap material is fairly simple by burying it within all the crush and run that goes down prior to the stone dust.

Day 598 - The buffstone middle is specifically as a walkway for hot days. That stone doesn't get very hot like the bluestone.
Day 598 - Not long, that pool will be exposed to some emphatic swimmers.

Day 604 - Several projects going on besides the bluestone patio. This area is being built to elevate to a final grade equal to the back wall. With that, the gate will also be raised. We were thinking about placing a table and chairs in the quarter circle.
Day 604 - In the next year or two, I'd like to eliminate the grass at the entrance to the pool room and finish it with bluestone and somehow integrate that area with the putting green which will be surrounding the 3 palm trees.

Day 604 - This area needs at least 4 inches of crush and run and an additional 4 inches of stone dust in order to properly support the synthetic green. The cost of the green is identical to the equivalent bluestone. We should have enough room to allow 3-4 putting holes and some creative putting.
Day 604 - Just another view of the putting green area.

Day 604 - Just when I had enough projects Lana wanted to place some stone in this area. Rather than doubling my work in eventually removing the stone, I began building footers for a wall to surround the back entrance. This will be close to grass level at the bottom of the picture and 4-5 block height in the area where the stone is already dropped.
Day 485 - Cleaning up for the day.
