Phase IV

Pool Construction (7 of 8)

Day 98 - NOW it finally looks like a pool.
Day 98 - I was amazed that it took 4 truck loads. The size of the pool is between 21000 and 24000 gallons. I estimate the hot tub to be about 620 gallons.

Day 98 - Not a bad view of the entire spread. The greatest part of the pool being so low, we're very secluded from any view outside of our yard except for one direct neighbor and it's still hard to see anyone inside the pool or hot tub. Privacy is pretty well driven by this design and location.

Day 98 - This gives you perspective of the sizes. Our house is tiny in comparison to our "EXTREME" backyard. One of the guys delivering our Celtik wall commented. "I thought I was at the wrong address, but when I got here in the backyard, I thought there was only one thing wrong - This isn't my backyard."

Day 98 - This is currently my favorite picture of the pool
Day 98 - The pool water guy commented "Did Mike leave any chemicals and I said NO. He indicated they usually supply a bunch of chemicals to mix with the water when they're filling the pool." When I asked Mike the next day, when he brought the chemicals about 24 hours later, why he didn't have the chemicals for the pool, his response "Because I choose to". It's always been some kind of competition. Lana was there when we got that bit of arrogance directed at my simple question. All we ever asked for were answers to questions and good work. We paid every bill on time or early, but I won't pay the last bill until everything is complete. I've learned my lesson on trusting people.
Day 98 - Completely filled.

Day 98 - Still admiring the pool after dark.

Day 98 - Still working on something at night.

Day 98 - This one is a little out of sequence, but the crew working on the plaster.

Day 98 - I believe these were out of a different camera and out of sequence. The crew getting ready.

Day 98 - The crew almost complete with the plastering.

Day 100 - After two days of brushing walls and balancing the water, the circulation of the pool has begun.

Day 100 - This pool is going to look extremely inviting next spring.
Day 100 - We've got one month to wait prior to getting the pool cleaned with our new cleaner. We also have to wait one month for the winterizing to occur, but they never really explained that to us until after probably 5 different conversations asking when, when, when.
Day 100 - I'm very happy overall with the construction of the pool. I want to negotiate the remaining balance prior to paying it. We'll see how that goes.
Day 100 - Back to details. We couldn't figure out the leak problem with the pond, so began digging out which was covered less than a month ago - UGH.
Day 100 - Continuing to dig for the valve coming from the pond.
Day 100 - Determined the leak to be from the pond, so began covering again and starting the firepit area. Brought over a truck load of crush and run to elevate the area.
Day 100 - I feel as worn out as I look. Looking at the picture wears me out.
Day 100 - We're now into November. Just wish it were 80 degrees out for a dip. The water is roughly 50 degrees now.
Day 101 - From the Pool House view
Day 101 - Looks pretty good for November
Day 101 - A view from under the pool house
